French Horn Rebellion are Robert and David Perlick-Molinari, two brothers born and bred in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, currently residing in Brooklyn NY.
In 2007, younger brother Robert, an accomplished French horn player, found himself as principal horn chair of the prestigious Northwestern University Symphony Orchestra. Both currently work at David’s production studio in Williamsburg Brooklyn, YouTooCanWoo, and curate a new indie disco and house record label, toucan sounds.
In 2007, Robert was a young classical horn player in the Chicago area making beats on his laptop, and throwing house parties.
It was originally co-founded by Robert and his brother David Perlick-Molinari in 2007. The LA Weekly lauded them as the kind of band America “needs a million of,” while The Guardian praised their work as “killer dance-pop.”
Today, Robert and David continue to innovate from their Brooklyn-based studio complex, YouTooCanWoo, which boasts 4 beautiful studio rooms, and a 100-cap private event space, where they also manage toucan sounds, an alternative house and disco label.
Their new EP Brothers is a special four track nostalgic collection celebrating their long time friendship, artistic collaboration and growing up together.

It was originally co-founded by Robert and his brother David Perlick-Molinari in 2007. Robert of the band confides, “being brothers we sometimes hide from our feelings behind being ’tough.’ That said, the bond of brothers is deep. Finding more joy in electronic/dance music than in the classics, he with the help of his brother David (who had recently produced MGMT’s Time to Pretend EP) created FHR and the duo released their first single together, ‘Up All Night.’ Now after 10 years, FHR has performed as a DJ as well as a live band across 5 continents, while collaborating on stage and in the studio with some of the most influential music artists of our time.

Standing at a crossroads, and fundamentally frustrated by the demands of mastering such an instrument (that he knew would never allow him to fully express himself), he finally asked his brother David to rebel with him, and together they embarked on a life-long creative journey.
Having set up shop in the arts/music hub of Brooklyn, it wasn’t long before French Horn Rebellion started to impact on the NY music scene, with older-brother David co-producing and engineering MGMT’s original “Time to Pretend EP”.
French Horn Rebellion’s international adventures have already seen them play shows in France and Belgium, as well as the US, Brazil and Canada, appear at SXSW, CMJ and NXNE and perform with the likes of Cut Copy, The Drums, Matt & Kim, Sleigh Bells, Cool Kids and The Twelves along the way.
Their debut album “The Infinite Music” will be release Fall 2010.
