    FAMILY BACKGROUND:

    Dorothy Dandridge was born in Cleveland on November 9, 1922 to Ruby and Cyrus Dandridge.

    The Dandridge Sisters were in England under the control of Geneva Williams from June to September 1939 in a show at The London Palladium topped by comedian Jack Durant and the Jack Harris Orchestra. They may also have performed in the 1940 movie "International Revelries."
