As her star waned, Plonja took to the screen, big and small, and then retired to a life on the high seas as wife to a cruise-ship captain.
I never really looked at the culture too much; I just lived within it.'
Her look reached an apogee in hairdresser-turned fashion photographer Ara Gallant's photographs of drug-fuelled fantasy; literally so in one slice of 1977 indulgence, as two male models snort lines of cocaine while Plonja challenges the viewer to match her desensitized gaze.
It wasn't all glitter balls, rollerskates and barechested busboys in dickie bows - Plonja had an energetic out doors life too.
A fraught trip to the Seychelles with Norman Parkinson and fashion editor Grace Coddington turned into a fashion-world 'Heart of Darkness'.
Plonja put on her usual energetic performance - no other girl could have managed it. She appeared on multiple Voguemagazine covers, including British Vogueand Vogue Italia.
Apollonia van Ravenstein had modeling contracts with photographers Norman Parkinson, Irving Penn, and Richard Avedon.
As per the TVLine, who also initially reported about the various casting news, Coppola would also guest the star at the time of FX biker drama with their 7th as well as the final season, also playing the Mildred Treal, Principal at preschool where even Jax as well as son of Wendy, Abel, will also be attending during the year...
She also appeared in Anton Corbijn’s 1986 music video “Golden Earrings Quiet Eyes.” After retiring from modeling and acting, she began working as a hostess for the Holland America Line luxury cruise ships in the late 1990s.

Apollonia van Ravenstein
Born: August 12, 1954 (Geldrop, Netherlands)
She may have said, with deadpan accuracy, 'I was the model of the minute or the year or whatever,' but for Norman Parkinson she was the 'maddest, funniest, hardest-working model who ever earned a fortune'.
Fashion, money and hedonism, none of it in sparing quantities, collided in 1973 in the impossibly long limbs, panther gait and bare grasp of English of Dutch-born Apollonia van Ravenstein, known to everyone simply as Plonja.
'It's all still to me dizzy', she remarked as her career - which began on the cawalk - took in magazines across the globe, product endorsement (for which she was unnamed but vital), and more than 15 minutes with Andy Warhol.
As Parkinson put it, 'I give a private round of applause to this intrepid and fearless girl, who has given me two or three of the ten best pictures I will ever take.'
From the book: The Faces of Fashion - Vogue Model
.
Parkinson called her the “maddest, funniest, hardest-working model who ever earned a fortune.” She was the muse of photographer Ara Gallant and they often partied together. In the 1980s, van Ravenstein had roles in the films Seraphita’s Diary (1982), Nothing Lasts Forever (1984), and Flodder (1986).
He sketched her with dark tumbling raven hair, but put her on his magazine Interview with an austere Soviet-era bob and wearing a Dutch submariner's cap. Hence, who will set wheels in the motion for their impressively expressive feature of the debut...
Plonja's personal bravery earned mention in dispatches from Parkinson. 'I loved America.
Photographer Arthur Elgort said, 'Apollonia had an individual, pixiesh look. On Bird Island: 'birds by the million are most menacing and terns scream when they are disturbed; and with their half-fledged young puddling about your feet in centuries of guano the mother birds dive-bomb you in dozens.
'We wanted to re-create Rousseau's pictures of animals in the rainforest,' Coddington told Vogue, 'so we set off with two stuffed leopards in a boat...We were so miserably seasick the whole thing changed to a 'shipwreck diary' - complete with objets trouvés as footwear and a Man Friday in the form of a stray black mongrel.
