Abdul Basit, the Renowned Egyptian Quran Reciter
Abdul Basit Abdus Samad was born on November 15, 1927, in the village of Armant in Upper Egypt.
His meticulous technique and profound devotion to the Quran set a high standard and exemplified the true essence of Tajweed .
On June 30, 1988, the world mourned the loss of Abdul Basit. He entered the National Radio Station in 1951. His legacy, however, remains alive through his numerous recordings, which continue to inspire and move people to this day.
The exact date of his death has been confirmed to be on 30 November 1988， and he has been survived by his three sons (from oldest to the youngest): Yasir， Hisham， and Tariq.

The first Surah he recited was "Fater".
In 1952, Abdulbasit Abdulsamad was appointed official reciter to Al Imam Achafiî's mosque and then to Al Imam Al Hussain's mosque in 1985.
Abdulbasit has left a fortune of high qualified recordings of both the chanted Holy Scripture and the recited one. At 10， Abdul Basit finished learning the entire Quran by heart in his village.
Abdul Basit’s sublime voice, precise enunciation, and heartfelt rendering of the Quranic verses won the hearts of audiences worldwide. He was an ambassador of the Holy Qur'an across many countries and the first president of Egyptian reciters Bar in 1984.
Abdulbasit Abdusamad went to many Arab countries to recite the Qur'an in Ramadan such as the Saudi Arabia and Syria.
Abdulbasit Abdusamad died on November the 30th, 1988.

Abdulbasit Abdusamad is a renowned Qur'an reciter born in 1927 in a village called Almara'za in Egypt.
Abdul basit Abdu samad learnt the Holy Quran at an early age from Cheikh Mohamed El Amir and later from Mohamed Selim Hamada.
‘Abdus-Samad was one of the first huffaz to make commercial recordings of his recitations， and the first president of the Reciters’ Union in Egypt.
His recitations were often broadcasted on radio and television, reaching millions and captivating listeners from diverse backgrounds.
Abdul Basit’s impact went beyond mere admiration for his voice.
