Due to the quality of its products and technology, the company captured many of the sophisticated markets in the Western world and competed with many Fortune 500 companies in the United States.

His wife, Vimalabai, was his lifelong companion and played a vital role in holding the family together.

In 1959, the Government of India appointed him Sheriff of Mumbai. This move brought him good profits. By producing cords required for parachutes, he also made significant contributions to the defense sector. In India, he came to be known as the pioneer of polyester film.
