So he continued to fight. He knocked out his opponent in the 4th round of the match. He graduated from Woodward High School in 1942. On September 28, 1950 he won a 15-round decision over Joe Louis and was proclaimed the world heavyweight champion.

He always said that god sees everything that a man does in his life and judges on his doings. Even Rocky said that Ezzard was a tough competitor for him that had gone down with him for 15 rounds. No boxer stood against him till 15 rounds.
Out of his 40 victories in these years, he won 24 by knockouts.
Charles continued to box until 1959.
