He was a two-time NBA All Star and an All-NBA Second Team selection in 2006. Before him are Kyle Korver (1981), Stan Van Gundy (1959), Gerald Henderson Jr. (1987), Diana Taurasi (1982), Zach LaVine (1995), and Bruce Brown (1996). After playing college basketball for Duke, he was selected with the first overall pick in the 1999 NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls, and later played for the Philadelphia 76ers, the Los Angeles Clippers, Dallas Mavericks and Atlanta Hawks.
Prior to his front office position, Brand played 17 seasons in the NBA for five different teams.
Brand played his college basketball at Duke University, where he went on to star for the Blue Devils on what is regarded as one of the most talented teams in NCAA History. After him are Johnny Kelly (1968), Grace Van Dien (1996), Eric Da Re (1965), Eddie Johnson (1959), Ike Barinholtz (1977), and Kate Micucci (1980).

Elton Tyron Brand (born March 11, 1979) is an American former professional basketball player and the general manager of the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
He did not miss a beat once he entered the NBA. He went on to win the NBA's Co-Rookie of the Year with Houston Rockets Guard Steve Francis.
Brand played in the NBA for 17 years, including parts of five seasons with the 76ers. Before him are Andreas Küttel, Grzegorz Rasiak, Ivica Iliev, Tiffany Haddish, Pang Qing, and Stéphane Dalmat.
Since 2016, Brand has worked in a variety of basketball operations roles for the team, most recently as Vice President of Basketball Operations for the 76ers and General Manager of its NBA G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats. After him are Eddie Johnson, DeMarcus Cousins, Ádám Hanga, Bill Wennington, Donatas Motiejūnas, and Maciej Lampe.
