He experienced significant pressure to excel, which may have contributed to his complex personality and creative genius. His groundbreaking music videos and innovative dance moves, such as the moonwalk, forever changed the landscape of the music industry and set new standards for aspiring artists. His passing resulted in numerous memorials worldwide, including a televised tribute at the Staples Center, which drew an audience of over a billion viewers.
By the mid-1970s, Jackson had begun to carve out his own identity in music, releasing "Music and Me" (1973) and "Forever, Michael" (1975), the latter being his final album under Motown Records. The native of Peterborough, Ontario, has also made five playoff appearances.
Morton is the only active NHL official to have played in a National Hockey League game.
