In a historic weekend for some of the top players who have ever stepped onto the gridiron, there have been many who have received enough votes to have their name immortalized in Canton, Ohio.
The Chicago Bears boast the most Hall of Fame players in NFL history with 39 members. He was drafted in the third round of the 1998 NFL Draft out of the University of Washington and he ended up starting 183 games for Chicago.

He recorded 36 career interceptions with the Bears as well as 42 forced fumbles thanks to his famous “Peanut Punch,” technique. Throughout his 13-year NFL career, he started 164 of 168 games, with impressive stats including 911 tackles, 126 pass deflections, 38 interceptions, 44 forced fumbles, and 11 fumble recoveries.
Beyond the game, Tillman’s legacy is defined by his commitment to service and philanthropy.
“Peanut,” Tillman’s nickname, became a two-time Pro Bowler from 2010-2011 and was a first-team All-Pro in 2011. The Austin American-Statesman and All-State Class 5A honorable mention named him to the Super Cen-Tex team. The university inducted him into the Louisiana Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012.
With such an impressive college career, it was no surprise when Tillman was selected by the Bears in the second round of the 2003 NFL Draft.
Tillman made an immediate mark on Soldier Field.
Tillman was also recognized as a second-team All-American by CNNSI.com in 2002 and was a two-time All-Sun Belt honoree. During this time, Tillman attended eleven different schools before settling in Texas for his high school years at Copperas Cove High School. By the time graduation rolled around, Tillman was a two-time All-District 8-5A and all-area team selection.
Today, Charles Tillman is remembered for his philanthropic efforts and his undeniable impact on Chicagoland sports history.

The NFL Hall of Fame game is set for Thursday, July 31 between the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Chargers.
Soon enough, players across the NFL knew him as “Peanut Punch,” a trademark move he used to force fumbles. Kreutz was named to six Pro Bowls and was named to first-team All-Pro in 2006 and second-team All-Pro in 2005.
Tillman, who became a fan favorite among Bears fans, was a second round draft pick in 2003 from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.

Charles Tillman was born in Chicago in 1981, and spent his childhood traveling the world alongside his father, a sergeant in the US Army.
