It all began at the age of three in Sewell, New Jersey she started roller skating and went on at age nine to win the primary girls freestyle title at United States Roller Skating Championships.
“I went roller skating for fun with my friend,” Tara recalls. With seven triple jumps in total and a triple loop-triple jump combination, Lipinski’s free skating program was the most technically challenging Olympic program to date.
After achieving her season’s best with a well-executed triple Lutz, Lipinski finished second at the 1998 U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
In her short program, which she called “the lowest point” of her career, Lipinski failed on a triple flip attempt. “Acting has a very similar feeling to skating, and when I got roles based on my ability and not my name it was really satisfying.”
“Of course my first love will always be skating.
It always has been, and I realized that I really missed it,” she says. She had the option to get back to visiting however needed to pull out from the 2000 World Expert Titles.
She made her national debut at the 1994 U.S. Olympic Festival competition and won an historical gold medal. In the now 15 years since her Olympic triumph, Lipinski takes the same championship-style approach to her new roles as a TV sports commentator for NBC, NBC Sports and Universal Sports, an actress, a philanthropist and more.
At 13 years-old, Lipinski went on to become the first female skater to land a triple loop/triple loop jump combination – a signature element of her performances. She currently serves as a TV commentator with figure skater Johnny Weir.

Tara Lipinski is an American previous cutthroat professional skater, entertainer, sports observer, and narrative filmmaker.
She also became the youngest World champion when she won the title in 1997.
“We brought in a lot of people that never watch figure skating at all," Lipinski said. “Even as a kid I realized the need to give back to the community and to be a role model for young women who aspire to follow their dreams as I had done.”

Personal Life
In June 2017 Lipinski married television producer Todd Kapostasy in Charleston, South Carolina.
She claimed that she had performed her jumps, in the same manner, the year before, when she won both the Worlds and the Nationals, and she disagreed with the judges’ evaluations of her jumps. And I just really fell in love with it.”
